Accommodation, Masterclasses and More

Jersey hotels are preparing for an influx of hungry visitors next month for the island’s annual food festival. Taking place from 19-27 May 2012, the Food Festival is an opportunity for anyone who loves food to discover more about local produce and to indulge in some special master classes and tastings.

While you can always put together your own break, some hotels have compiled packages which include car hire, dinners and other extras which may make your trip even more special.

Here are three:

In Town:

Having secured its first Michelin star late 2011, Grand Jersey in St Helier is offering a Food Festival Gourmet Package. This entails two nights’ accommodation, car hire, breakfast, afternoon tea on day of arrival and one dinner in Tassili leaving you one night free to explore other restaurants featuring in The Good Taste Guide: Jersey.  From £199 per person.

By the sea:

Above St Ouen’s beach, The Atlantic Hotel will be hosting a number of Food Festival events from shellfish masterclasses with Mark Jordan to tours of local suppliers. Gourmet Breaks at The Atlantic include two nights’ accommodation with breakfast, car hire, Champagne, a signed copy of Mark Jordan’s book and a tasting menu dinner and table d’ hôte dinner in the Michelin starred Ocean restaurant.  From £700 per room.
