Two restaurants, which feature in The Good Taste Guide: Jersey, have been recognised in national awards.

Tides at the Somerville is one of Dolan Hotel’s three hotel restaurants to achieve a Gold Highly Commended Taste Accreditation.

This accolade, by Quality in Tourism, the assessment service for VisitEngland, looks at the amount of fresh produce used by the restaurant, along with taste and presentation of food, and the service.

Overlooking St Aubin’s Bay, The Somerville offers modern European cuisine in a classic setting. Typical dishes include pan-fried bream with fennel ceviche, guinea fowl and cepe pressing with beans, and blueberry frangipane tartlet with Jersey honeycomb.

Bill Dolan, chairman of Dolan Hotels said:  “We work hard to ensure that each of our four-star hotels provides guests with the highest quality food and exceptional levels of service. We are very proud that all three of our hotels have been given the top award – it is a great accomplishment for the Dolan Hotel Group and testament to the dedication of our loyal team.”

The Atlantic Hotel, home to Ocean restaurant, is also celebrating after it came 15th in Trip Adviser’s Top 25 Hotels in the United Kingdom at their Travellers’ Choice Awards.

A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the 42-year-old hotel is located in one of Jersey’s most beautiful settings, with views over St Ouen’s Bay towards the Atlantic.

Under executive head chef Mark Jordan, the restaurant has held a Michelin star for seven years and has four AA rosettes.

Both Tides and Ocean feature in the Fine Dining section of The Good Taste Guide: Jersey, the channel’s island’s first independent restaurant guide.
